A cut panel has a seam, piping and a shadow at the colour change.

A printed one has none of those, and the difference reads across a room.

Chain stitch or standard embroidery?

Chain stitch is one continuous loop and stands off the cloth.

Standard embroidery lies flat. Both are fine; only one is the retro script.

Is the cloth lot reserved?

Fabric colour drifts between dye lots. Thread numbers do not.
